When it comes to facial rejuvenation
, women are not the only ones who want to try it out and look more youthful. Now more than ever men are seeking the help of fillers and neuromodulators in order to look refreshed.
“More and more men are becoming aware of signs of skin aging and want to look good for their age,” says Dermatologist Dr. Kucy Pon, MD, FRCPC. “They recognize that fillers help to rejuvenate the skin
and give a rested, healthy natural appearance.”
It’s common for men to lose volume in their cheeks causing the skin around the mouth to sag. This contributes to deep lines and folds in their skin. To combat this tired look, the most common area men want fillers are the cheeks or nasolabial folds.
But, injecting cheeks on men is not what you might think. The filler point is the centre of the cheek says, Jenny Cajucom RN, BSCN, CANS. This will help lift the skin around the mouth, minimizing laugh lines.
Women typically want “to increase the volume of their cheeks, lift up nasolabial folds and improve the contour of their jawline,” says Dr. Pon. This means women are adding volume to the high points of cheekbone to create a more contoured look.
Women are also interested in having filler injected in the “under eyes, laugh lines and lips in a conservative way
,” says Cajucom. “They just want to restore what they once had. Not add brand new cheeks or over sized lips.”
