This month I tested out a subscription box from the Toronto start up, The Taste Box. They send out a monthly gourmet food box filled with ingredients any foodie would obsess over!
I thought it would be fun to dissect their “Healthy Box” that went out in January since it fits perfectly with any skin care lovers lifestyle. And because gorgeous skin comes topically from great skin care and from the inside from great food!
So, what was in the box?
1. Guiseppe Guisti Il Calamaio Balsamic Vinegar.
This balsamic vinegar not only comes in a beautiful bottle sealed with a wax top, but it also comes all the way from Modena, Italy, THE BIRTHPLACE OF BALSAMIC VINEGAR! The recipe has been passed down since the Middle Ages! If your mind isn't blown by that, I don't know what it would take!
Besides its fabulous packaging and perfectly balanced sweet and sour taste, balsamic vinegar is packed with anti-oxidants. That means eating this vinegar helps protect your skin and destroys free radicals that cause aging and destruction to your skin!
Try it with spring mix, goat cheese and pecans! Yum!
2. The next product in the box is a personal fav, the Matcha Ninja Cold Brew Matcha.
If you know me, you know I gave up coffee because I only want to drink glam liquids from now on. The glammest of all morning drinks is matcha! Not only do you get your caffeine but since matcha is finely ground green tea leaves it is much more concentrated than a regular tea bag making it a very powerful antioxidant! Green tea is also an anti-inflammatory so it helps with rosacea and acne if applied topically!
Try mixing matcha with almond milk and ice for a delicious latte!
3. Peter Piper Spices Ground Turmeric
Turmeric is of my favourite healthy ingredients! You may have seen the turmeric latte on instagram a lot lately, and that's because turmeric is one of the worlds most healing spices. It is said that turmeric exhibits over 150 potentially therapeutic activities, including antimicrobial activity (meaning it kills or stops the growth of microorganisms) and anti-cancer properties. It is also on the list for being an anti-inflammatory! Adding a little turmeric to your day is a great way to have a healthy gut!
4. No7 Mexican Hot Sauce Chile Pasilla Sauce
Okay so you may think there's no way hot sauce can make you any more fabulous than you already are, but you would be wrong. Did you know the Pasilla Chile has 715% of your daily Vitamin A content and 100% of your fiber content?
Aestheticians LOVE Vitamin A because it promotes healthy skin cell production, and stimulates fibroblasts that give your skin firmness!
So splash a little hot sauce on everything!
If you're interested in purchasing the next Taste Box subscription which is "Flavours of Spain" themed with ingredients to make paella (!!!!) you can get 50% off your first box when you purchase your subscription here!
